EURASIAN ECONOMIC COMMUNITY COUNCIL ADOPTS BASIC DOCUMENTS

The Interstate Council of the Eurasian Economic Community has adopted basic documents to regulate its activities. This is said in a statement issued by the presidents of the Community's member states--Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kirghizia and Tajikistan.
The presidents also point out that the treaty on establishing the Eurasian Economic Community, signed in Astana on October 10, 2000, has already come into force.
Today's adoption of the Commmunity's founding documents marks the start of practical work of this new international organisation and the member countries' rise to a higher level of integration, the statement notes.
