Notes:
I calculated the country scores, by adding the scores of all the financial centers in each of the countries with multiple financial centers that are listed in the GFCI table. China includes Hong Kong. British dependencies of Gibraltar, Cayman Islands, Guernsey, Jersey, and Isle of man were not included in the United Kingdom score, but kept as separate countries. The European Union score is the total of the scores of member states, again not includng the British dependencies, which are not EU members.
The GFCI table shows ratings and rankings for 75 financial centres, calculated by a �factor assessment model�, which combines instrumental factors with assessments of financial centres from responses to an
online questionnaire.
The instrumental factors, consist of various indices in the area of competitiveness, from a wide variety of comparable sources:
People, Business Environment, Infrastructure, Market Access and General Competitiveness.
The 64 instrumental factors and financial centre assessments are combined using statistical techniques
to build a predictive model of financial centre competitiveness.
