The ratio shown on the table is calculated by dividing the salary of the chief of government by the GDP per capita of his country, expressed as a percent.
NOTES:
GDP per capita is the Gross Domestic Product of a country, on a purchasing power parity basis, divided by the population of that country, for the same year.
Salaries are as of 2010, published in The Economist magazine, from other sources.
The GDP per capita, on a purchasing power parity basis, is from the Countries of the World website 2010, sourced from the 2010 CIA World Factbook.
